Throughout his illustrious career John MacGregor (1944-) has investigated the effects of time on ordinary objects.  Chairs, clocks, tables and entire rooms undergo the distortions of time shifts, appearing simultaneously in multiple locations or disappearing entirely into a vortex of line and colour.  Trained in both art history and psychiatry, MacGregor is the author of the pioneering study, The Discovery of the Art of the Insane (1989).
